I want to herculine my tub this weekend and wanted to spray it but cannot find any auto store that carries a bedliner gun. WTF? Any ideas who would carry one?

That may be the problem

Ah....Probably me explaining what I was spraying threw them off. Ill definitely try back to see if anyone has an "undercoating gun". Thanks guys.

Turds.....

Uh..... I think Ive stepped into a Turd vortex. Nobody anywhere had ever heard of spraying on undercoating with a gun. Then the autozone expert suggested I not use Herculiner and go with the duplicolor cause it already comes in spray cans. Yeah buddy...I'll get right on that :flipoff2: Anyway I guess Ill call these places back when a fresh shift of geniuses clock in.

Finally...

Found a guy at a parts store who was a Heep freak and knew what I was lookin for. $35 and itll be at the store tomorrow. That was easy

I rolled mine as well. Very happy with it, and didnt have to mask as much. Just make sure that the first coat is thin and dont apply the second until the first is nice and tacky.

Holy Crap.....

Local auto parts place wants 35 bucks for a gun. I think Ill drive over to harbor freight for the 6.99 special. :D

any experience

anybody have anything good/bad to say about the harbor freight gun? Is there anyone out there who has used it for a bedliner application? How did it work? Also, anybody have an opinion on doing the inside of the hard top with the stuff? Last thing...how do the liners compare duraback v. herculiner v. duplicolor (about $50 a gallon at wal mart) v. etc....let me know what yall think

I used herculiner, roller and brush. Seems like it only comes in black. Very durable yet a rough finish ( small square rubber bits) Messy but it turned out real nice in the end...

paint booth

Desert dude, checked out the pictures of your paint process. It looks like you didn't use a booth, how did that work out for you? Does the paint look smooth. I love the color and it looks great in the pictures, kudos for a job well done on that cruiser!

Thank davidt, I was lucky the weather was near perfect to spray, warm/hot-no wind and bone dry. We have almost no bugs in our area. The paint came out smooth, I have a few spots I may touch up as time goes on. All and all we are happy with it :)

Duplicolor sucks.....

Ive never heard anything good about Duplicolor. Everyone seems to stick with durabak or Herc.
