These look great. I’m assuming you have wood under the top and bottom part of the wheel since it’s in an LX?

I also went with that Ebay/Amazon guy for these. Pretty decent for $59 Prime. Stitching it up wasn't too bad, I'd recommend not using the double side tape they provide. It showed outlines of the tape on the smooth leather so I ended up removing the cover, and what tape I could and re-install. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019H9DJFM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went black, I didn't want a 4th or 5th different tone of brown in the mix.

Yah it was wood but the PO drove allot with hands at 12 o’clock and wore clear thru the wood on top. Gave me nothing but splinters. Also worn leather on the left 9 o’clock support. The new leather is nice and better then any of the Walmart or pepgirls slip on options.

just ordered the dark brown one from ebay...listed for $56.99 but offered $50 and was accepted. been watching some of the youtube videos...did you guys sew every on every stitch or skip 1 or 2?

I did every other stitch on the straightaways but every stitch on the corners and on the backside. I didn’t even come close to using one spool of thread and they sent two, so you should be fine if you decide to do every stitch all the way round.

How long does it usually take to install the cover with the steering still attached?

Another eBay / amazon cover that turned out well. Thanks for the link and idea!
Which leather color is this from the list of choices? Also which thread color? Also looks like you chose the perforated version - you happy?
This looks like the best DIY solution I've seen yet, I'm gonna be ordering one soon

The color was dark brown. I did not choose a thread color. I chose the perforated because my stock cover was perforated. Like others, I also put this cover over top of the existing worn stock cover. I am happy with how it turned out. Take your time on the install as that will determine your final product. It took me 2-3 hours. Be patient.

I just did my loncky cover in about 4 hours. I really like it but need a suggestion on how to make it a little more "sticky". Both me and my 23 yo son thought it was a little slippery. Any ideas on what product might work to fix this issue?

TIA

just installed my ebay cover (mewant). the leather on the bottom 2 spokes are cut very large and so even after sewing them as tightly as possible, there is still an excess of leather which I can pinch together by hand. I've messaged the ebay seller and will see if they can do anything or will even respond to my message.

well they got back to me and said I can keep my cover and they'll refund 50% OR send it back for full refund (assuming minus shipping). probably going the later route as I know the cover is going to annoy me as is. will need to order the loncky one later once I finish dealing w/ this order.

I just tackled redoing the steering wheel with one of the fitted kits off eBay. Cost about $55 and took a week or two to get here but worth it. The listing was vague, but said Land cruiser Prado, but looked the same. The leather was precut and the kit came with the thread, needle and trim tool. You don’t remove the old, just cover it and it’s a tight snug fit. Here is the before, during, and after on my 2000.

Maybe it will tighten up some with the suns heat.

that's another idea...plenty of thread leftover. not sure if I can manually thread it through the leather w/ the needle provided...maybe through the perforated part?

took timdgsr's idea and manually restitched. took me about an hour and a half to fix this problem (both bottom spokes). the needle provided and my fingers were strong enough to pierce through the leather. u can see the extra stitching. I didn't cut anything out, just tucked it in as I didn't want the original stitching to come loose. came out pretty good now. will try to use a steamer and see if I can tighten it up in some spots. sent message to seller to refund me 50%

top 2 pics are of the bottom left spoke, bottom 2 pics are of the bottom right spoke.
