Is there a technique to use when trying to make a bead on a flat piece of 18 ga sheet that will STOP or at least MINIMIZE warpage?
Im using a HF bead roller...doesnt help Im sure, but I would like to keep the panel straight as possible.
Progressive depth? Could that be the issue?

THanks,

K

Here's an example of what Im trying to do....
This is scrapped at this point, but I have since built a new one, but havent rolled the beads yet.

If you are talking about warping when you weld it, then no, there is no way to eliminate warping. You can minimize warping by keeping the welding heat to a minimum. Make a lot of spot welds and cool in between. You can straighten it after welding, using a torch to shrink the metal and a hammer and dolly to expand it where needed.

Don't try and roll the bead in one pass by cranking it down and forcing it through, make multiple passes, slowly increasing the tension. This should reduce the warping you are seeing.
