Beach trip today

Gonna take the boy to the beach today to give mama a little break after i just got back from a long out of country trip.
Also want to get the 62 out on the beach for the first time

Any advice on nice quiet places to let him play? I haven't been on the nothern side of OBX since I was a teenager, we had gone to Ocracoke/Portsmouth for the last 10yrs.
Was thinking Kitty Hawk or Corolla area roughly to keep the drive down a little from SE Va. And take the Currituck ferry on the way home for fun

Yeah, north part of Duck/Corolla are desolate.I was up there on Wednesday, and am heading to Alligator River for some kayaking. I'm in the Kill Devil Hills area until Sunday...

Just pulled into Mama Kwans for some tacos and see a maroon 80 in the lot. Not you is it??

Nope, mine is black. 4 Hellas across the roof rack. We just got back from kayaking Alligator River paddling trails...

Ended up going all the way to the Cocina Beach lot near Bodie light to get my OHV permit. By then I had drug the boy so far, we just walked over the dunes and played by ourselves right there. Only visitors were a few folks that had gotten their permits and walked over the dunes next to the office to see the surf. Lots of fun in the sand, way too much surf to get any more than our ankles wet (he's 2 1/2). He loved it and passed out coming back over the CBBT . Surprised it was only abt 2 hrs from home, so will definitely be back to check out corolla and north soon .

How was kayaking today?? Breezy on the river?
