Another 4wd club has organized a "Beach Clean" of the nothern 4x4 section of the NC beaches. I Thought I would pass along in case someone was interested. I think it is a great idea. We would be there if I were currently employed and could afford the gas.

Over the past three years my off road club has worked hard to bring attention to the north beach of North Carolina (Carova) As a off road group of family and friends we always adhere to the “Tread Lightly” principle that you should leave an area cleaner that when you arrived.
In 2008 we decided to take steps to clean up the 4x4 beach. We had no idea what laid ahead and found the challenge that confronted us was more than our small club could handle. With about fifteen people several of which were children we collected approximately four hundred pounds of debris. Over the next year we talked amongst the off road community telling of our story and we were overwhelmed with the offers to help.
In 2009 we had a 2nd event that we advertised to our community and the result was amazing. We now had two more clubs lending hands to the cause. The extra help collected approximately four thousand pound of debris.
This year October 16th will be our 3rd attempt to clean the beach. We have chosen October as it is toward the end of the tourist season and the temperature is favorable to hard work. We are again working with area clubs to get the word out.
Please help us to support the Beach
I would like to thank the following; KMA Off Road, Middle Peninsula Jeep Association, Virginia Beach Jeeps Off Road, Tidewater Four wheelers, No Bs Just Jeeps, Dark Side Off Road and VA4WDA for helping to get the word out.
