Hey guys,

Where are some good, local, quality camping supply vendors?

I checked out 3 vets for the first time a few weeks ago, great place. Stopped at Skyview camping this afternoon (underneath the Patullo in Surrey), they had in stock one of the shower tents I've been eyeing up, as well as Zodi water heaters, Little Buddy tent heater, and other cool stuff.
I refuse to shop at that ecogreenfreak give money to the landconservancy assholes.
I found these guys Modern Outpost camping gear, outdoor equipment & accessories for today's pioneer while trying to find a local supplier for the PETT toilet system, unfortunatly they are on the Island.

Anyone know of any other good places?, aside from Canadian Tire/Walmart, etc.

I'm guessing you're not interested in Mountain Co-op or Coast mountain then (judging by the tree hugger comment), many of the surplus stores carry some stuff, I know that the RV places along the Langley bypass carry some camping stuff as well, Outdoor Depot has some, but other then that it's 3 Vets. There isn't too much around. There is a store on Dundas/Powell (where they meet up and change) which is (if I remember correctly) a Dakine warehouse outlet store which has some camping stuff as well but it's the usual crap of some stoves, tents, hiking, back packs, etc.

Hey, I belong to the Land Conservancy and I say that they have done magnificent work in
protecting some of our Gulf Islands from developers who push hard to build sub-divisions
in World Heritage sites. So poo on you! ;p

Valhalla has a store in Abbotsford, but as you might expect they have a lot of high-end stuff more for back country camping.

If you're ever in Bellinham. Joe's Sports (right off Guide Meridian across from Bellis Fair) is a good place.

Of course, Cabela's is camping/fishing/hunting heaven, but they are a ways south of Seattle in Lacey. However, I do work down there regularly, so if you see something at Cabela's Official Website - Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear at competitive prices. that you must have and can't find anywhere else, I'd be happy to pick it up for you. You'd save on shipping, duties, etc. And besides, I'm always looking for another excuse to shop that store!

put dave's surplus last on the list the last time i was there it was less then the great past it had. westley surplus on front st. is high on my list. army and navy is still a gooder (just down the street) mmm smokeys on the grill and that vat juice. dollars stores, liquidation, and surplus herbie but thats a day trip or more if your lucky... sweet 11 years nice.

i order a lot of stuff from Cabelas Canada witch use to be S.I.R you can also sing up for there free catalog. just got the new spring catalog and lots of drooling in there.

Cabelas Canada - Home

sometimes i find it's cheaper to ship from the US than Cabelas Canada. we need a Cabelas here in BC.

:hmm:

if you are planning on buying a sleeping bag. check the rating to be a true rating not a comfort rating. it can make for a cold night.
