We're heading for warmer weather, with any luck. Good luck in the canyon. The drifts should only be a few feet deep by next week..

There's a chance of snow late in the week... could make the run real fun. I'm game. :steer:

Save Mart in Dayton? Really? (Save Mart store finder says no store in Dayton.)

Just talked with someone from Dayton and they said they have about 4 inches of snow on the ground. I know we will be getting a new storm on friday that could drop to the valley. If we stay on the road snow may not be that much of a problem. The hardest part will be getting down to the canyon on the winding road with the hairpins. Side slippage not recommended in those little gullies:eek:. I am sure the exit hill is a closed-so it will be out the way we came in. I will be in either way. Prob. take the forerunner for enclosed comfort. With only a 3" lift and 33's, no lockers it could be a challenge with the snow. Can't do it alone so maybe we should post up?? 24 degrees is going to be the high but SUNNY:cheers:

I've been home all week with bronchitis so I doubt I'll be up for spending the day freezing my butt off.

I'm out. Just for FYI, we still have drifts that are 2-3' deep here at my house, so take it for what it's worth, the snow there could be deep or non-existent depending how the storm hit that area.

Hope to see ya'll at Smiths. Should be a fun snow run. From who has posted I guess it will be CVKurt and Me--so far. Anyone else? Hope to see you there. We will be safe and if anything looks sketchy we will be pulling off the trail.:crybaby: From what I have heard Dayton only got light snow today.

We got over a foot here at my end of Washoe Valley. The wind drifted things pretty bad, hopefully the canyon didn't get what we got today.

Mark and I had a good romp up the canyon... could of used some 33s and a lift. or maybe just better driving skills.... :steer: Got high centered real good once when I slipped off a boulder, had to have Mark give me a tug. My rock rails came in handy... and my rear bumper got in the way of a rock once. :whoops: But no real carnage, just a few scraps and bruises (mostly to my ego).

As you can see from the above photo, it did not snow much in the canyon... I'll upload some additional photos when I get a chance.

Had a great/fun run up the canyon. We went up to the tufa slickrock formation. There was just enough snow to smooth out the ride and to keep it interesting over the rocks. The hairpins were drited a bit but no problem it you took them high and allowed for some slippage. The temp was suprisingly comfortable even at 27 deg--but with no wind and the sun shining it felt warmer. However, happy to have an enclosed cab. Even saw a flock of chuckar take off from one of the red cliffs. Good to know there are still some local. I was home, without airing up and a stop to the car wash to get the mud off, by 12:30.

Kurt you are too hard on yourself. Ya, a lift and 33s would have been better but you have stones to wheel that beautiful 2010 FJ the way you did. You have a nice rig and you wheel it like you know what your doing. It was fun watching the computer dance thru the snow and rocks.

Looking forward to the next run!:D. Maybe it won't be to cold for the rest of you weenies.:flipoff2:LOL
