Battery Level

Does anybody know what battery level should your FJ be at? Mine seems to have dropped down significantly since I bought it. Pictures of the guage would be appreciated.

If you have the stock battery it tells you on top if it needs water, charge etc. Old school acid batteries rule of thumb was the water level was to be kept at the lower plastic piece of the fill spout. you should use distilled water only , use tap water if thats all you have access to. gel batteries for obvious reasons you cant do anything with

I think MelFeliFJ means the voltmeter - which should read around 14.

If you mean voltage. The battery should read 12.7 volts after the engine is turned off for ~8 hours.

There is a level line on the stock battery you will see it on the sides myne as lost a bit from rock climbing. Put distilled water in it and give it a good charge with cables of four 24 hours if you can.

If your going to charge the battery, only use an 'automatic' charger set for trickle (1-2 amps). The slower the charge rate, the better for the battery.
