I just found my old Bass Cannon (100W subwoofer) from my FJ60 from several years ago, and want to install it on my '94 FZJ80. The original instructions are to intercept the negative wire from both the right and left speakers, and connect these to the two wires on the Cannon. Can anyone advise me on how to connect this to the '94? Should I do the same as with the 60, or can I simply disconnect the OEM subwoofer and connect those wires to the Cannon (w/out the amp)?

Look into a line output converter. Is the bass tube amplified?

Connecting it to the OEM amp harness will give you power and signal, but you may not have enough power to drive your amp. I would run a separate power line with a relay and use the OEM power to turn on the relay.
