Basket options over custom swing out tire carrier? (1 Viewer)

I have a new custom spare tire carrier that I'm getting set to mount on my 1997 Tacoma, and if you look closely at the pic you'll see that it has a vertical 2" channel, same as a 2" hitch only without the lip on the end. I'm still thinking I can use this to mount something above the spare, and was thinking about maybe some jerry cans on a basket. But, I don't know of anyone who fabricates a basket for this item. I may go back to the builder and request that he build one for me - but just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestion or perhaps someone may think of something I haven't thought of. Thoughts anyone?

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a basket you like, and weld a 2" bar onto the bottom or rear of it.

It's been quite a challenge, believe it or not. Most baskets that I've seen are made for Wranglers or FJs (old and new) and don't mount up the same. It may be a matter of getting just a mesh basket and welding to a vertical channel as you say. I had just hoped there was an "out of the box" solution!
