I have a stock gx470. I want some input for lift sugestions.

What I would like: keep a smooth ride, no crashing. Right now RAC and shocks all work 100%.

Would top mount front spacers ( 2 inch lift) ride well?

I read the 4 wheel write up on trailer or whatever it's called, their they cut the shock bottom and extended it to gain the lift. I could not find that method anywhere else.

By the way, new to i8mud and a GX. So hello all.

It really depends on how much real offroading you will be doing it goes from:

Spacer < Bilstein 5100 setup < OME setup < real 2.0 or 2.5 coilover setup

Spacer lifts, in my opinion, ride like crud off and on road, so I would at least suggest skipping that and going to 5100 or OME setup

I was just at my lexus dealer, they are going to give me a set of old rear air bags, I think i am going to try to cut off about 2 inches of the lower bag mount and tack weld it to the existing bag to make the rear taller.

I saw that the trailex gx cut the lower strut body on the front and extended it with hollow round stock. Has anyone tried this other than them? I wonder if this effects the preload alot.

I really want to do coilovers, but right now everything rides great. I will keep the tires just over stock and likely won't add alot of weight to the front.

I really like the ride of the trd pro 4runner, so if I go bilstein I might price out the 6100s, I bet they cost loads more over the 5100s.
