The true winner here is the museum and future visitors. Unquestionably a world-class example. :)

She has arrived and is now settling in. We have her on the main display floor but not yet in final position. we need to put her on the turntable and do the archival photo suite. All I can say is if you think it looks good in the photos they don't even come close to how impressive it is in person. What a gem!

What a beautiful build - well done! Not only have I seen your finished product at the museum, but I have her distant cousin in my shop. ‘82 FJ45 from Saudi Arabia. Just started the tare down yesterday

I drove a friend's 1984 FJ45 from Sydney to Darwin in 1996. He asked to help him find a good 4WD for his year living in the outback for his graduate study program. We found a former NSW bush fire vehicle on a used car lot - 19k on the clock. Looked like it had just left the factory. It was a great driving vehicle and could go anywhere. A 5-speed instead of the stock 4 would have been welcome on the highways, but other than that it was wonderful.

Interesting that this thread should get a bump just now. The old gal just took a spin on the turntable for a couple hundred archival photos with an average size of 350 megs a copy.

As requested.

I just came across the thread today. This is insane!! Absolutely incredible. Not enough adjectives to describe how amazing this rig is and the attention to detail, skill, dedication and craftsmanship to complete this beautiful truck. Many hats off!! Can’t wait to make it out to the museum to see it in person.

It is definitely on my list as well!! I just never decided to fly or drive a cruiser across the big pond.. that would be a True Landcruiser Pligrimage

Let me know when you are coming and maybe I'll be finished with mine and cruise on up with it. Have you started on another project yet? Cheers mate.

Sounds enticing.. I planned to start 2020 with an fj45 ute, lets see how everything works out.
How is your project going? Thanks for your courage anyway! Cheers

Good luck with the ute, mine has been going along slow lately, busy with everything else, going to get back on it soon and should have it running in about three weeks, will add some pics and a video on my thread. Would be nice to try and plan a trip though, dreaming as always right?
