I have been building this trailer for awhile now and i think its finally done so i figured i would post some pics to show the progress. From what ive researched its an early 50's bantam Civilian model military tailer. Ive learned alot from reading all the other builds/threads and couldnt of done this without all that info so thanks guys!
On to the pics.....
This is what it looked like when first got it
Then to this
After sanding the inside i rhino lined it. Then i made the lid, cross bars and mounted the RTT.
As you can see in there is a gap at the front, i bought a thick rubber strip and 1/5 aluminum pieces which came out like this
Then i mounted the gas struts, 150 pounds each, they couldnt handle the weight but it made it alot easier to lift it. I had to use the axe to hold it up.
After that i did SOA
Then I decided i wanted to make some steps and possible storage.
So after a couple other little things like replacing the rear lights, changing to 7 pin so i could have the battery/power inverter, and mounting two more 80 pound shocks, this is what it looks like.
Ive only gone up with it once, before the snow hit, it did really well (that was before soa) Cant wait to go up this summer.
