OK, on friday I was about to leave on a trip to the beach, have the truck running, hop in and notice I have check engine light and VSC light. run over to auto zone and they read the code, and tell me I need a new 02 sensor.

I roll with the family to the beach, hop on MUD, and find a link to this article

hop on amazon, and find the denso part for my 07 LX470...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018JUJ9O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

order friday night, its delivered Sunday when I get back... problem is, the damn 02 sensor is not as seen in the diagram from TLCfaq. the sensor looks like its attached to the cat. I compare the part I ordered and confirm thats where it goes, then go to work.

hit it with PB blaster, drink a cold one, and then use the auto zone sensor wrench I rented. after some cursing, I get the o2 sensor out. problem is, I can't get plug to come out. It looks as though there is a drive shaft in the way...

SO, my question is, how do I get it unplugged. Truck is the 07 lx in my signature. THANKS!

I've done this o2 sensor twice on mine, pretty sure I just used an open wrench or a crescent wrench to R/R and don't recall anything special for swapping it out....I suppose it's possible your exhaust is clocked at a different angle than others and maybe that's why?
I'd say snap a pic of the problem and post it up.

I got the screw in sensor out... It's the electrical plug that I'm having an issue with. The drive shaft is in the way.

I was having a hard time getting the snap connector off...

UPDATE!

Took it to my mechanic this morning, he got the original o2 sensor unplugged, and turns out I had the wrong o2 sensor. Went to AutoZone and bought Denso part 234-4260 for 89 bucks. Sweet! took it back to my mechanic, plugged it in, and NO MORE CODES.

CONCLUSION.
It was a real bummer to hop in this truck getting ready for our first beach trip, and then have the check engine light pop up. I can say that after the o2 install the truck is running much better. the exhaust was noticeably smelly, which means the truck was running fuel rich. Fuel rich= s***ty gas mileage.

Truck is running like a top with 88 bucks for a part, and 50 bucks labor.

Now i need to swap the fan clutch and do some diagnosis on the AC system. Truck has 260,000 miles on her.
