Just started on some sliders for Bamaheel's 100 tonight. The build shouldn't be too much different from the last 80 series set so I won't post all the details, just the differences. 3x2 main rail instead of 4x2.

proof that I have finally started on them:

Awesome. I am stoked to get these. See you tomorrow.

So after a week traveling for the real job I am back to work on these. Got all of the end caps welded on last night, all of the tube bent, and one kickout cut and welded on. Getting the tube to angle up was a bit of a challenge for me, I think I am making it more complicated than it needs to be. The final result will be worth it though:

I was a little worried that the heat might warp the narrower(3x2) tubing, but I welded a little at a time and am happy to report that they are still nice and straight:

I need to drill six more holes and should be ready to fit them on the truck. I am going to try tacking the entire arm together on the truck for these to see if it helps get a more consistent alignment under the pinch weld. Both 80's had about 1.75" from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the pinch weld, allowing the 1.5" outriggers to sit flush with the bottom of the frame. On the 100 I measured 2-3/8". I don't know if the body mounts have compressed on the 80s or if the 100 just sits higher on the frame.

Matt those are awesome. Can't wait to get them.

BUMP

When do we get pix of the install?

When do we get pix of the install?

hopefully this weekend...

In the meantime, sneak peaks of the next project(s):

and a reminder why you should always wear sleeves when you are welding:

once bamaheel's are installed and the other two are finished it will be time to move on to the rear bumpers for a while for a change of pace.

Nice I was just about to ask about the bumpers, are you still planning on doing a big build?
And I'm def still interested in those sliders we talked about b4 for my 80! I also really like the corrugated steal addition! It looks nice

Finished one side and have the kickout welded on the other side. the front rail is bent, cut, and just needs a little grinding to get it welded on.

what are your impressions/thoughts on the 30 degree angle? Do you think the extra time/energy is worth it in the end? Is that something you will do on future sliders?

I'll wait to answer that until they are installed. I think the angle is needed more on a 100 because it is so much harder to gain extra ground clearance and the angle gives an extra 2" at the kick out. I will try and find an easier way to get it done next time if possible.
