Got some new jdm clear corners in. guess they were for the earlier model, the lower pert of the trim wasnt chrome so i swapped the trims...

Also did some light wheeling at crystal lakes trail over the 4th. fyi the rear tire carrier held up very well. no movement whatsoever.

Where did you get the clear corners and how much? I have been thinking about that on mine as well. Are you going to do the parking ones too?

Your Cruiser is looking great, nice work!

Got them online through trdparts4u here are the part numbers

81621-60070
81611-60090

they were like 40$ each i think.
Not going to do the lower turn signals, pretty sure that wasnt a factory option...

time to add a little more to this thread. Its been a while and i have been busy with my cruiser. I have since installed the 1hd-t/A442F/HF2A (non viscous) drivetrain in my 80. The swap was fairly simple. the hardest parts was the wiring, which if you can follow wiring diagrams isnt bad at all.

pic1 engine in place everything installed including radiator, front cowl harness (bastardized), LHD engine harness, fuel filter/primer, 24V switchover solenoid, early washer bottle, dual battery trays, HDJ air box, and even was able to retain ABS.
i used PN 82121-60163 for the LHD engine wiring harness if i remember correctly. Ordered from Japan4x4

Pic 2 & 3 underside showing you do not need to have custom motor mounts made for this. Just make sure when you are looking for a donor vehicle that the Right Hand side motor mount has the two holes. 1 for the gasser 1 for the diesel. EASY drop in...

Also the Transmission crossmemeber was exactly the same as the one already in the truck. no mods needed for that.

for the fuelfilter primer bracket, the bolt holes were already on the shock tower but there was no support for the bottom bolt holes. so i had to weld a couple nuts on the frame part to properly secure it. will post pics eventually.

Sweet swap!

So, if you're happy and still on the honeymoon, the turbo must keep things pumped up at altitude?

It does pretty well but at really high altitude and long hills like Eisenhower tunnel I have to drop speeddue to smoke. Its very nice in most off road conditions too. However when at very steep incline and very low speed turbo lag is a bitch. Maybe i just need to have it tuned or something. Looking for a Turbo upgrade as well. I'm getting 20 MPG hwy70 mph and arount 15 in town (heavy foot) though I've been told cleaning injectors will help with that

Plate holder

American Toyota at one time, had them in stock.

The grass is always greener on the other side!
Japanese will pay a premium for genuine LX450 parts!
