Two of us are planning a two month intensive exploration of the Baja Peninsula from about Dec 17 to Feb 28, maybe a little longer. This will be all dirt as much as possible. We expect to spend most of our time on the warmer gulf side but probably a short trip out to watch the wales. We are hoping to recruit a few more fellow travelers. Two is too small for safety, four is ideal and six would be the max (6 total). Have to limit this to smaller rigs like FJ, 40, 80, 100, Taco, etc. Don't want any big trucks cause rescue can be impossible. So if you have the desire, time off, right attitude, well prepped rig and a passport jump on board. Most of the detailed planning will be on Expedition Portal under Expedition Planning North America.

One more just jumped on board. We may leave a few days earlier to accommodate him.

Just checking the weather in Baja. Mulege is 75-80 all week with lots of sunshine while the weather here is snow, lots of it, and frigid temps.

Hey there, late to the party.

Drove to Baja last year and also a few years ago....so I've been twice. You will have a great time. Check out Aqua Verde south of Loreto. Remote beach camping. You will like it. Drove all the way to Cabo on the first trip....and basically thought it wasn't worth the effort. But if you have time then drive all the way to the tip to say you've done it. You will like Bay of Conception better though.

Have fun!

.....and the pic in my profile, avatar whatever is from Aqua Verde.

This will be my 7th trip but four of those were Baja races so not much exploring done then. We did camp and explore some after finishing the Baja 1000 in 70 and 71. I remember the beaches we camped on had almost no RVs. Not so today.

I have yet to go any further south than La Paz, so may do it just because.
