Finally sat down today. Thank God for AC. No way I could work outside today.

In all the years of fooling with Rear disc brakes I had never bought new pads so I was happy to find the part number in the FAQ as I was insistent to the Auto Zone clerk the donor was a “rear disc brake” from a Monte Carlo but alas. A 78 Monte Carlo had drums. I got it now 🙄

This photo gives you an idea of the difference in the 4” HFS versus the 2.5” Dobinsons

Now to wrestle these IMS shocks in place and put her on all 4 again

IMS shocks installed. Anyone that has used these will tell you they are in a league of their own. Nylock versus Cotters on the pins.

Before I installed these heavy ass tires (84# per corner of gnarled rubber goodness) I remembered to fix the sheared off bolts in the frame. I got 2 of the 3 done and left my M8x1.25 tap in the top right portion. 75% will have to do

This new toy makes these heavy ass tires manageable for my old ass

Now the Baja 69 is back on all 4. I measured it just before I tore into the suspension and here is what it was ground to the bottom of the fender. 30 psi

Driver Front 40.25”. Passenger Front 40.75”

Driver rear 38.50”. Passenger Rear 39.25”

Now it sits dead nuts level side to side and front/rear. I’ll get more numbers once all the weight goes back on

Driver Front 39”. Passenger Front 39”

Driver Rear 38.5”. Passenger Rear 38.5”

Got those front motor mounts out. Both were split. Shot. Kaput.

Got the flanges installed on the Tcase and measured for new Tom Woods shafts.

Gonna call it a day. I’ve hit my head a half dozen times in the last hour. That is usually my signal I’m getting tired. Tired means I might miss something.

I’ll rebuild the ebrake and fill it full of juice tomorrow and can call the wizard back to glue in the torque tube and put the exhaust back together

Got the clutch slave reinstalled and tested it and the seal blew out all over the place. New Aisin of both ordered.

From there I started bolting the stuff I took off for powder back on.

New OEM battery tray and holder. New radiator. Slow and steady.

I’ve been on this thing 11 days straight and 65 hours to date. Gonna take a break from it tomorrow. Worn out. Need to run some errands and such.

Did you just cut the torque tube out and put it back in the same Location?

My 69 has a big notch removed right by the park brake.. I figured out why once I pulled the trans/ transfer..

Rotated it up and out. That way you can remove and reinstall the driveline
