Killing some time while the hurricane is doing it's thing outside...I figured I would start the drain & refill-tranny fluid swap....Had the 96 lx450 about three weeks. While loosening the plug something seemed wrong, the plug got tighter as I unscrewed it ...didn't think much about til I went to tighten it after the drain...again tight at first...then finally spinning like a freshman sorority sister.

what are my options?

1) Remove pan and replace with new pan.
2) Remove pan and drill and tap for larger drain plug.
3) Remove pan and drill and tap for heli coil allowing use of a stock drain plug.
4) Remove pan, drill out hole, weld in hole, drill and tap for stock drain plug.
5) Find replacement expanding rubber drain plug, use with stripped pan as is.

I would not drill pan while installed. You don't want swarf inside tranny.
