Yeah, the stinky kind. I filled up my tank yesterday, and at the pump I noticed the gas stunk bad, almost like diesel. Can bad gas cause overheating, or is it my thermostat sticking? I thought these engines were designed to run on crappy fuel. I've had my temp gauge spike before, but never multiple times in a row and losing power like that. Normally on the highway I can easily do 70-75, but I was struggling to hold 50 at one point.

throw a couple bottles of octane booster in and see if it helps

seafoam might help too...otherwise drain your tank and start fresh

I'm just gonna run the tank dry and see if new some fresh fuel will help. As long as I take it easy it stays cool. I hope its just the gas or thermostat, if not its just more incentive to get the other Cruiser back together. :shotts:

Second that. Whats the age on the fuel filter?
