Has anyone tried and succeeded in mounting some sort of
extra backup lights on an FJC?
backing down my dark driveway, even with the factory lights, is difficult. I have seen LED ones that look like they can be cut and mounted in a round hole in the bumper. Led's would be nice, since the amp draw would be low enough allow splicing into the existing lights
I dont want to mount something below the bumper.
any thoughts?

check out this photo of CO_Jeff's rig over at fjcruiserforums.com. You should contact him and ask what he used. They are difficult to see in this pic, but if you look in the member directory, you might find some better ones.

I installed Superbright bulbs by sylvania for the backup lights... Does the job for me.

got a sylvania number for those lights?

I installed a set of ARB 8161 backup lights on my Gobi rack. They come with a nice harness that taps into the OEM reverse lights. This way the lights come on when you put your gear shifter into reverse. You can also flip a switch to have them on/off all the time. They are nice and bright!

This is what I have, but I am not sure if these work with the FJCruiser. The guy at Advanced Auto Parts looked it up for me.
