I recently purchased a 2017 Lexus LX 570 that a non Lexus dealership replaced the backup camera. The camera is the correct part number from Lexus. The image on it is mirrored and there are no gridlines. When I go to the service menu for camera settings, the menu options are grayed out and I cannot get into them. The only option I can get into is the vehicle color. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

So a quick silly question…..are you in Reverse when attempting the change? Many menu options are greyed out in anything but Park.

No, I am in park when I try to change it. I also don't understand why there is an exclamation mark on the bottom right of the screen when in reverse.

Well, if the image is mirrored, I’d want an ! too :p But seriously, if you can’t get to the menu and the image is reversed, I wonder about correct wire hookup of the camera by the non Lexus shop?

I wondered about the wiring as well. I took the camera apart to verify the connector was installed correctly. There is only one way to install it. I wouldn't have thought they would have rewired the connector since it should have been a direct swap between cameras. I guess I need to find out if wires are in the correct spots.

Aren’t rear view and reverse cameras supposed to be “mirror” images? At least mine are on all my vehicles.

When I replaced my backup camera with an aftermarket camera and I had to set it on “mirror”. Otherwise it was like a forward dash cam and that, for a reverse camera, was not what I had been used to.

Yes, it is supposed to be a mirrored imagine for reverse. Mine is not though. It's not upside down or anything else, the image is just backwards from what it is supposed to be.
