I might have to hop on this. I don't know about the updates though.

I visited backroads mapbook in Coquitlam a week or two ago and picked up the new b.c. version 2 sd card for $119.00 to go with the 60csx me and my kids bought for my wifes mothers day present (she said I can keep it. cool).
Anyway the guy a the counter said if you have a registered version 1 ,just log into your account and you can download the upgraded version 2 for free.

This is supposed to be very good. I may send away for the disc as I'm too much of a Luddite to install it on my lap top despite the tutorial videos. Its free if you can figure it out.

Hrmmm...I logged into my account and there is no free upgrade option. Guess a call is in order.

I bit the bullet and decided to buy the maps, also bought a ram mount for it.
I am pumped to start using my GPS sometime soon!

now the question is...how the f do you actually update this sd card? file is done ( gmapsupp.img), just drag and drop into the gps folder once it's connected to the pc?
The garmin folder only shows 2 files; bacroa_poi.gpi and backroadmapbookbc.gpi.

Got thru to their tech support, so here's the skinny:

1. Copy the poi.gpi files from the poi folder onto your computer
2. Delete the gpi files from your poi folder on your gps.
3. Delete the img file from your root garmin folder.
4. Copy the downloaded img file into the main garmin folder (it takes awhile).
5. not at step 5 yet, but I think it involves entering a new unlock key which is on your account web page where you downloaded the update.
6. Pray that it worked?

7. Crack a cold one
