Hi Group , I have a 1997 xl450 .I just went on a 1,400 mile trip . My grand baby was in the center seat in the middle row . I have to have my seat all the way back so my wife was on the seat behind the passenger seat beside the grand baby . She didn't have a cup holder . Is there a after marker cup holders that will fit in the back of the center console ? Right now it has the factory cd player that I don't use so I can take it out . I was thinking maybe hooking something onto the 2 metal bars from the head rest . What are people doing about back seat cup holders ?

I was gonna tell you to search, but GOTDAMN the search function sucks! I couldn't even find my own thread.
Here's my solution:

I did something very similar many, many years ago but I used the Fischer universal cupholders and made the backplate out of sheet metal and painted it black. Since the console is tapered you have to add about 1/2" at the top to make the cupholders sit at the correct angle. I also added a 12V outlet but would update it with some USB plugs. One thing to note though, when closed, there's plenty of clearance to flip forward the 2nd row seats but if the cupholders are open, speaking from experience, they'll most likely need to be replaced. I also added these to the 3rd row seats along with a 12v outlet as well.

The good thing about the Honda Odessy cup holders is if they are left open and the rear seats are folded up, they safely invert. It sounds awful, like they've been smashed to bits, but you grab the base and flip it back up to the closed position and it self re-assembles. They are pretty rugged and kid proof. And I'm HOS, Hard On Stuff.
