Time frame: April 11 Evening to Evening April 14

Well it was decided at the monthly meeting to hit the AZ Peace trail. Game plan is to leave San Diego about 430 to 5 pm on Thursday night and head east and camp someplace on the way to Kingman AZ. I'll come up with a meeting place in Kingman about 10 am on Friday the 12th and jump the trail. Plan on camping outside of Havasu on the north side Friday night so those come later can meet us. Saturday south again and camp somewhere around Quartzsite. Then on Sunday make it to Yuma around 2 to 3 ish. From there head home.... hope we can get some folks to come with us!

Here is the GPX file of the run...we are just doing the west half.

Tell the General you have been tapped by the President (omit of which entity) to an inspection of border facilities in Az.? 👍

Looked at google maps for time to drive to Kingman...6 hours back way to miss all the north bound 15 traffic. So leaving North county at 5 is a good plan with dinner, gas and bathroom breaks we can be about 1 hour outside Kingman by about 1030- 11 and get a camp spot picked out. Wake up and finish the run and be in Kingman around 915 ish to get anything that was forgot and maybe meet the Copper State Folks by 10. Attached is the driving map.

Did you narrow in on specific camping spots or planning to play by ear? Looking forward to the trip report, doing a similar route, but in reverse the following week (leaving north county 8AM Thursday though so a bit more time on the trail).

Play by ear. But have areas I'm spying as spots to camp. Aerial photography is not the easiest to make decisions on we're would be good to camp. I know we are looking at a camp ground that is free blm land spot for Thursday night out by needles

If your interested in coming and can't get out at the time we plan to leave, I have a google map page to where we will be at on Friday morning is your coming up early that day. I will have the ham on so hopefully if your running late we can hear you. So far only @Justin Zwick has committed to a maybe and was planning of come out Friday afternoon to meet us out by Havasu.

Yeah right on, same. Near Quartzite is a place called Crystal Hill, w/in Kofa, since I'll have the kids with me that's prob where we'll stop since yes, you can find crystals  Just southeast of Kingman is Wild Cow Spring Campground, not BLM but in the mountains/trees and is not very popular. Still undecided from there, to power through the rest of the AZPT or spend more time in Kingman area! Hmm...

You guys enjoy, record your tracks and camp spots!

It looks like I'm not going to be able to make this one. The wife made plans for Saturday evening, plus I wouldn't be able to even get out of town until late 30 on Friday anyway.

Leaving tomorrow...anyone joining us???

We SO wanted to do this. Oh well. Have fun, take lots of pictures.
On the up side I did get to purchase a new handgub and get to take it home that same day.

Thanks for rubbing it in, now we will have to live vicariously thru both of your adventures. So make them good.

Well we finished the peace trail yesterday. We got about 10 miles of making the southern point that we wanted to and came across an obstacle that Farrah I said oh my God hell no! It was 340 miles off-road mainly with maybe about 60 miles of asphalt that we drove. Lots of fun and excitement since we did by ourselves. Some nasty Little Rock sections we handled as well as a lot of trails. In the fall thinking of trying to do the Eastern section from Yuma up to Kingman. Then drive on the freeway down and hit the Bradshaw back into Anza-Borrego. That's a later trip we'll see how that goes. Here's more pictures of what we had seen

Where was this OMG obstacle? I'll be starting on Thursday from Yuma. Prob going to run the same Western side and take some side trails lined up from the Funtreks AZ book. What was your favorite section?
