that one gives you the 'blues' ?

What a beautiful rig. Seems to have been really well done. I'll be watching the auction!

uh-huh

Maybe he was referring to the few parts the guy painted blue? looks great except for that.

All that nice work and the non-stock colors seem little out of place, blue block, blue tank and I may be mistaken but is there some two tone on the bed?

This thread needs a pic,

Certainly was..... :)

Now e-bay has three more trucks. 2 just as nice as the first.(the one that sold for just over $25k) The other is all original, but a little rough. Some guys on this site say these trucks are worth about 10k-12k? Why are they selling for so much??? besides the obvious!!!

2 cents

If you look at the time/cost to restore a vehicle correctly than you should consider $25K a steel and 12K an insult. I am not talking about a refurbishment---but a nut and bolt restoration. Just think about all the different pieces that have to be restored and put back together. By the time you add up all the mechanical seals, window seals, bearings, new bolts etc you are looking at several thousand in parts. Then you have to take everything completely apart remove any old paint and rust---if you have a rusty body them you are looking at even more time to return the vehicle to its original glory. In the end very few people have the money available to do a full up restoration and settle for a refurbishment. So for those that have the money available and see a fully restored vehicle going for $25K---they realize that if they were to have the same work completed by a shop they would be into the same vehicle well over $50K. But ultimately in the end a vehicle is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Thus what may be a $100K vehicle to one may only be a $20K vehicle to another.

That is a great 45. I'd love to have it blue color scheme and all. Wow.

I agree about the price, not bad for all the work that took, though if I were going to the trouble, I'd update the tranny to a 4 speed or even a 5 speed.

You could expect to pay $5-$10K for a truck that is in decent enough condition to restore to the level that this one has been.

Vulture Mine Cruisers

The guy that restored and sold this truck bought one of my project trucks back in March of last year. If you look at his website under projects it's the lighter colored '71 with the hard top. It was staight and rust free but here is what it looked like before. He does top notch work. It almost made me sick when I saw the finished product. Oh the potential I missed out on for having too many projects.
