Is anyone else hearing axle whine on deceleration between 64 and 59 miles per hour? It goes away on acceleration or even cruise. I have the 6-speed manual in case they use a different gear set compared to the automatic.

I would appreciate it if a few people could give me some feedback on this.

Thanks!

I don't hear anything over the noise of my tires, and I like it that way. :D
Sounds like it's time for you to buy some Swampers.:hillbilly:

The autos use a different ratio than the 6 speed, but other than that, they are the same. Maybe try changing the gear lube. Use synthetic, or just take it to the dealer, and make them make it better.

I was lead to believe a whine on deceration is diff gears...

BUT , depending on the loudness, it may just be a 'normal noise'....

I still love the whine I get when I downshift to slow down....

I have a 6 speed MT as well, and I haven't noticed any objectionable axle, transfer case, or transmission whine. Engine RPM does pick up a bit when I shift, but it's probably just my driving style (or lack thereof).

This is in "H" not "HL" right? Sometimes the transfer case doesn't want to let go from HL to H, and I have to double clutch into reverse to get it to go back to H. I have looked down to find myself in HL when I didn't mean to be, because of the above. I pay extra attention to the idiot lights now when I shift the transfer case.
