Axle Back High Clearance Exhaust

The Cruiser Company bumpers are en route from Long Range America for my 100 finally! I need to figure out what I want to do with the exhaust from the axle back to maximize clearance.

I want to keep it as quiet as possible and my stock exhaust is in great shape.

I’m thinking I’ll have an axle back setup fabricated with a smaller muffler to connect to the stock exhaust’s flange.

Here is the 100 bumper (it’s a 1hd truck, I have a v8) and an 80 bumper with something similar to what I’m envisioning.

Has anyone done something similar or have recommendations on what muffler I should consider?

From reading about all the other aftermarket options (DT, Borla,etc) they seem like they’ll be too loud for me and not give a meaningful difference in clearance at the rear.

A lot of us here a mud just cut off the resonator and then extend the tip/pipe to the bumper with the outlet pointing down.

How is the sound difference? I’ve heard it’s minimal except on cold starts

Thinking I might do that and then consider other options if needed. Although, I thought I could pass along the rear exhaust section to a fellow middle if I don’t cut it

I do notice at red lights there is more of a boom that wasn't there before. My engine is tuned up, engine mounts are new. Not sure if it's the engine cover or my sliders, I did have to move my sliders down slightly a few years ago, not sure if they moved back up over the years or offroading.
