I'm looking to pick up an ARB awning. Trying to decide between the 2000 and 2500. Price is negligiable between the two. Any reason NOT to get the bigger one? Seems that the extra 1.7' of shade would offset any potential negatives of the longer length.

Which size is this one?

This is probably the max I'd go. I'm not a fan of wind noise nor the awning catching on branches and such.

I have the 2500 on a Baja Rack. At first I thought it would be too long, but it looks fine IMO and provides a bit more shade.

Mo shade and rain protection = mobetta all things equal. Ali has a longer extending awning on his 80 and during our recent Utah trip the extra length sure was nice when the sky opened up during cooking time ;)

That's the 2500mm. About 8ft. That's the one I have. Anything smaller would seem kind of useless. The 8ft is big enough for my wife, dog and I to sit in the shade if the truck is pointed the right way. Probably the best bang for your buck in awnings and available on Amazon Prime, making for some very clever free 2nd day shipping.

The only reason not to get the bigger one is that it extends less than a foot past the liftgate and windshield.
