Picked up this huge new roll of waterproof rubberized material from military surplus store today, stuff is thin super flexible and very, very tuff, I cant even tear a portion where there is a small tear at the bottom of it? it is greenish tan in color, it is 5' wide and no telling how long on this roll, I plan on making a 8' x 10' awning for side of CDN M101 and another awning to attach to roof rack on BJ42, I will still have so much material left, I will sell it by linear foot after I make my awnings. has nylon impregnated thread within it.

dude you buy a lot of stuff from the surplus stores, i wish i had one close to me. i don't like buying that stuff sight unseen.

yeah some stuff would be hard pressed to buy without touching and feeling, I agree. I have probably 20 surplus stores around Ft Bragg as with most large military installations.

Going to make it $2 a linear foot for material + the ride and how ever much a round cardboard shipping tube costs? so example for the material is 5'x10'=$20. I am going to build my awnings at 8' x 10', one for trailer and one for BJ42? I need to cut mine first and then I will post on MISC FS section.

Is your camera date wrong or have you had this material for nearly 3-years? ;)

It would be interesting to know just what type of material it is. No idea?

my camera is off? I dont know what to say about the material, not sure who makes or what made out of besides it is tuff stuff if you would try and rip as I described? I will build my awning and post one day, have an idea of how I plan to do my setup, just need time now.

Dude, take custom awning orders...

I'll get ya measurements after you post up your build. :p

possibly, my good friend who used to do recover furniture just bought a commercial sewing machine in which he is going to do my BJ42 seats, this would be too easy huh?

I'd like to buy some of this when you get a chance..I think I finally came up with a do-able awning desgn.

Thanks ,Pat p.s. any build updates?
