I am looking into buying an 01/02 w/ Nav but need an aux input for the radio for which there is no aftermarket plug & play option.
Doing a bit of poking around on the net it turns out many car owners hard wire an aux input directly in place of the inputs from the tape deck effectively disabling the tape deck. (I no longer own 1 cassette or a player)
Has anyone tried this or have any insight into how the wiring of the Nav unit/tape radio head/amp talk to eachother and where it woudl be necessary to make this patch?
The neat thing on this is that when doen properly the car automatically recognizes the new input at switches over to the aux input.
