hi,
i live in scotland and i'm looking to buy my first landcruiser. the colorado is by far the most popular version over here.
i'm torn between the auto and the manual boxes, again the manaul is more common. are there any specific problems with either? (i'd prefer the auto).
also for my price range, i'm looking at a vehicle about 10 years old. these all seem to have a least 100,000 MILES on them. is this considered high (most in the u.k. would shy away from this sort of figure).
i'm still finding my feet with the landcruisers haing been a landrover man for the past number of years, however its time for a little more comfort and speed on the road.
any advice that you can give regarding the colorado ( i believe its the prado everywhere else) would be great.
may thanks.

If they have been well maintained 160000klms is nothing. In fact that would be considered very low klms for its age in oz.
Most of the 10 year old Prados in Australia have about 300000klms on the clock.

My youngest brother bought his 96 Prado from an elderly gent with about 160000klms and took it round Australia and through the centre with just an oil and filter change with no problems.

My other brother has driven his 2000 diesel Prado nearly 300000klms on bad roads and its still going strong with just regular maintenance.(although his dash has a 10mm wobble on bad roads)

I guess it boils down to servicing and a caring owner.
