Auto Oiler for air tools

So I bought this automatic inline oiler but I can't get any oil into the chamber. It is a Craftsman and sits inline after the filter. You remove a little screw and you're supposed to be able to add the oil. The problem is it won't go in. There is an opening but the oil just won't flow into it. WTF?

Is it under pressure? Never used one as I wouldn't want oil in my hoses (I use them for painting occasionally), so that's just a wild guess.

A lot of oilers have a fill hole that is too small, oil fills the small hole and surface tension holds it in place. Can you remove the bowl and fill it? Post a pic of it?

I'm not a big fan of oilers. The only place where I use them is on tools that run pretty much all day, everyday. To work properly they need to close to the tool, ideally less than 20ft of line between them and the tool. Even when using an oiler, It's still a good idea flush oil the tool.

i think you removed the oil adjustment screw. this is not where the oil fill is. there should be a larger size bolt or plastic piece on top that is used for fill, or just unscrew the reservoir and fill (no air pressure tho). once the reservoir is filled and air is supplied, you use the adjustment screw to set how often the oil is added to the air line.

trying to find a craftsman example but here's a nycoil lubricator. Nycoil & SMC make the best ones but of course you pay for them. one port is for oil fill, the other is a small adjustment screw or knob for oil control. the sight glass shows how much oil you are using, i count # of drips per sec./min/hr. etc.
