On Wednesday this week I picked up our new diesel GXL with KDSS from Brisbane. 930km to get home, fuel consumption averaged 11.6L/100km (bowser measurements). A far bit of climbing from the coast to home and a lot of time at 120kph means I am very satisfied with fuel consumption.

The vehicle handles well, is quiet and responsive and performs it's duties exactly as expected.

Best of all, my kids cried when it wasn't there to take them to school this morning! Like most parents I'm usually not content with my children being upset but in this case I'm very excited. It may mean that it's possible for me to get them to look after this vehicle!!! Fingers crossed...

No plans for modifications as we have a 60 series to keep us busy with that.

Congratulations! She's a beauty!

Ah...but methinks you will eventually give in and mod that beast someday! -Resistance is futile! :)

Cheers,

Thanks fellas. Here are a couple of quick interior pics I took just now. The GXL vehicle is very basically spec'd compared to the US versions. Still a magic vehicle and just what the doctor ordered for our central QLD roads. No more jumping our Commodore over Roo carcasses!

Thank you for the interior shots. I loved the barn doors on the 200 and cloth interior in the 200s I recently rode in Abu Dhabi. Very similar to yours.

Color me jealous!
