Wes .. maybe the EX locker function fine in your front end . as well, you don't need to use it at every time, and always you can go soft ( if you can ) troung obstacles in straight line .. it's safe for sure your birf ..

I also tought this " cheap " lockers as EX or locker right are not enought toughest to safe use in havy rigs rear end.

You can run the Aussie Locker in heavy rigs with any tire size. We have thousands in this use, including 3/4 ton pick-ups driven daily and off roaded hard, and with large tires.

Usually when we hear of an Aussie Locker snapping it is caused by spacing tolerances that either were not per the specification when installed, or were on the edge of the tolerance and have changed since the original installation.

Sorry .. Aussie Locker is not the target of my comment, I have no experiencie with it .. I just talk about my own experiencie with EZ locker and Lock Right .. and I feel both ( EZ and LR ) are not my best choice for rear end in my TLC ..

I'm not sure about the denomination of my Axles .. but TLC 9.5¨ is a half ton . ?

I put an aussie in the back of my 45 this past summer. It took me all of 3 hours. I do have a full floater though. It is not my daily driver but the several times I have been in paved parking lots I have barely noticed the rachet sound in the rear end. A friend who installed one a year ago does get the occassional bang from the rear end. Off road it is awesome. On off camber mud it dogwalks and I think it has pointed out the wear in my R&P because I have a noticable clunk in the rear end now. I have yet to go through a winter on slippery pavement. I'm sure it will drive the same as my old mopar with posi-trac in the snow. I think it is VERY good value and a VERY good upgrade.

Kevin - anything unique to know about putting this into a FF vs the semi floater? I'm planning on picking one up for my 77 CDN spec 45 in the next week or so. Thanks.

It should be no different than putting it in the front of a 40 junk...

Wes is right- I pulled mine ouyt of my semi float rear and put it in my full float- I did leave out the c-clip spacers though with no ill-effect.

I agree with the majority in that if you want a locker with virtual undetectable road manners spend the $$$ and get something selectable. I love my Aussie and the customer service I've had from Bill Cole, but the rear end does clank and bang every once in a while. Nature of the beast.
