Hi guys-new here.I mostly deal with rovers but I decided to buy this aussie fj45.I couldn't resist.I think its a great looking rig. Will be shipped here soon.Wont arrive until march.Just wanted to get some specs on what this vehicle has.Its totally original and its a 1972.
Questions
1.what is the engine and what is the hp and torque
2.what are the gear ratios in the diffs
3.is she capable of 65 comfortably on the highway
4.is the 3 speed fully syncromesh
5.what size and type of rims are these
6.will the original rims work with newer tubeless radials

Im looking for a driver-no offroad.Ive read that you can swap in newer fj60-62 3.70 diffs.I know the driveshaft flanges will have to be updated but can I still use my original axel shafts front and rear? Are the splines the same?

Thanks for your help guys-look forward to being part of the crusier crowd.Ive been to the fall gathering twice in my friends fj40.Next year I will try to bring this fj45.Thanks! jim:beer:

Speaking in general terms, it should be:

F petrol engine or H diesel engine (for 1972)
4.11 gear ratios (assuming stock)
65 is doable but she'll be happier with 55 in stock form
wheels should be 16x6 split rims (will need tubes)

Looks to be in pretty good shape for an Aussie truck of that vintage, and the bed (called "stylesides" down under) is fairly rare, since most 45's were sold in Australia has cab-chassis and had local beds of various designs installed.

Good luck!

Very nice truck congrats!.......BUT
