So i had been planning on keeping August open as a Club's choice trail ride. Class 6 roads, Hardcore trails or even Rockymountain Terrain Park in Maine are some of the options.

Let's throw out some suggestions and we can put it to a poll if people are split.
I will try to reserve any lands that are open and available to us.

The other option is a pub night or a get together. I'm down with whatever but we should move on this quickly before we get to deep into August.

Sorry I didn't put it on the board earlier but I have been dealing with a plethora of issues of late.

Thanks,
Bob

Does Rocky Mountain Terrain Park have stuff for everyone? Is that the one near Sugarloaf, ME? It's a hike but an awesome area and a great place to escape cell phones, city lights, etc.

I hear it does have something for everyone. They have been expanding it for a few years now. There's a large rock area as well.

I was there a few years ago, it was a waste of a trip, they had a man-made rock section(hardcore) they had a huge mudpit, and some trails a Geo metro could do. There is potential there, but for the cost and travel time I'm not sure. Granted this was a few years ago so not sure whats been done since,,,,
I vote swanzey,,bear claw is calling me:hillbilly:

Again, haven't been there to see it myself but I have been told by people who have been there recently that they have done alot to the trails and property. They have added a rec. room and a large kitchen and are trying to become more appealing to the offroad community.

I'm fine with doing Swanzey as well, would like to set a date with the NEA soonish.

1 vote Swanzey

2 votes Swanzey....looks like we're getting somewhere!

So lets get a date set

20th?

How about a week from tomorow (12th?)

How about a week from tomorow (12th?)

12th is a Friday!!!
13th or 14th of that weekend works, 20th also works for me.

27th 28th is no good, ill be trail leading for an event at Roush creek, Swanzey is a huge place I don't see why 2 clubs couldn't run there, maybe not the same trail, there is bear claw, wambus 1 & 2 etc. Although I don't know NEA rules about it.

6 trails there,
Landslide
The cutoff
Wambus 1
Wambus 2
Bearclaw
Buggy trail

Everyone knows the Wambus trails and Bearclaw.
Landslide is fun, has 5 trails going up the slide, ranges from easy to difficult.
Cutoff is a moderate trail but you will need a winch if its at all wet. I think Gary, Junior and I are
the only ones who have done this one. Long hill, halfway up a trail cuts across, does some mild off-camber
stuff and leads to a nice stonewall. Can go straight up the hill then take a trail down to the wall or a by-pass to the top of the wall. Trail ends on Wambus 2 right near the entrance to Wambus 1.

Buggy trail could be done by a few 40's but it would be a winchfest. Lot's of granite faces to climb.

New trails sweet, how do we find out the other club running and which trail they are running?
If it were up to me I would choose bear claw, this trail is my Nemesis, first time on the trail it broke my fjcruiser and I had to turn around after the second turn, second time it was a trail cut/build and i buggered up my steering on the 40, third time i had carb issues and ended up walking the trail, well carb is fixed, sprung over in the front on 37's with fj60 power steering, I would love another shot at her, but I wont be too picky if have to run one of the other trails, so the 13th or the 20th?

I have to check within the NEA to see who is running it. I'm pretty sure two clubs can run it no prob. Seems everytime I have been out there we have bumped into another club.
I would like to shoot for the 13th.
Checking into it now.

Mass Krawlers has it reserved, posted up to see if we could be accomidated for the day.
Dropped Mass Krawlers a message as well.

I think cutoff is where I put my 40 on its side last month. Like lane said that hill is a bear if even moist. I only saw one truck make it up and there was a lot of throttle involved. I had to winch up the first half and then made it up the hill. Got stuck on the rock wall and had to winch up that too. Swanzey is great... hope I can make it. The 40 only suffered (more) body damage.
