Lee, I believe it was... I asked Kelly on here because I saw her posting on that surplus bikini top thread.

How about having 2 a month?

The Jeep club I ran around with had a first thursday night meeting along with a third saturday breakfast/lunch social somewhere different every month as a way to publicize the group and attract members.

Two is certainly fine with me but it's hard enough to get people together for one. We need to have a trail run soon.

I think that is a great idea.

FWIW...

As Kelly already knows, we have two Cruiser clubs in Austin, with several meetings per month.

One LSLC evening meeting at a Rudy's BBQ. A number of members have family obligations or are too tired after working all day so attendance is sometimes sparse.

One Saturday AM WALCS/LSLC meeting in the Central Market parking lot, within walking distance of at least 3 great breakfast taco stands. Attendance has been good and growing. Kids and dogs are welcome, which helps.

WALCS meetings every Friday afternoon for cheapo craft beer and Cruiser talk at a favorite local watering hole, which happens to be "on the way home" for most of us. Good way to start the weekend.

We've found that multiple meetings catches most everyone.

Tell it to the ridiculous weather. :bang:

No kidding. Id love to go but it's too freaking hot. I just finished fixing a broken power seat in the dark cuz I started late trying to avoid the heat.

The Jeep club used the evening meeting for business only. If it wasnt too late afterwards we would all go get dinner somewhere.

The saturday or sunday meeting was more toward lunch time and we moved it around the city every month. We lined up all the trucks and hung out the banner. It was a great way to get the word out that we existed. About twice a year we teamed up with one of the 2 local Jeep dealers and had a show and raffle for door prizes.
