Well, August so far has been shaping up into a cruiser rich experience so far. Last weekend we loaded up the 60 and went down to Burlingame campground for the weekend. We set up camp in a fairly secluded site (for Burlingame), no site across from us, and one on each side. The site to our right was set up but no one was home. Later that night after the cookout and getting the kids to crash out, the Mrs. and I were sitting in front of the campfire when our neighbors pulled in. I knew the moment I saw the headlights that it a 60, and I could tell by the rumble that it wasn’t sporting a 2F anymore. It was around 10:30 or 11:00 at that point so I wasn’t going to go bother them. When I got up in the morning I could see it was a white 60 sporting a full roof rack, tinted windows, a home built diamond plate front bumper, and a rear bumper that also had a rack to carry a Vespa style scooter. It didn’t appear that anyone was up yet so we went about our business until all of a sudden our neighbor was walking up and saying “Nice 60!” Turns out they were from New York and were hitting the sites while they were camping out in RI. He had bought the truck and brought it up from Texas. He also said (if I remember correctly) that an LT1 had replaced the 2F. They were heading out to Block Island and we had activities for the kids so we parted and didn’t end up crossing paths again before we left. Sorry, didn’t get any pictures of that one.
Yesterday morning I head over to the Home Depot in North Kingston to get some supplies for a few projects. When I came out I found this 40 parked across from me. I happened to have my camera this time so I shot a few pictures. I ended up running into the guys as I was pulling out, a little cruiser talk and then we were on our way.
