Let’s get our hands a little dirty on this one… plus we get do some “on site” work!
We will cover the always important topic of vehicle recovery. Not only is it a skill that requires knowledge of the tools/equipment but it should also be practiced often. While we won’t be able to cover the complete expanse of the subject, this is great opportunity to see a few scenarios while allowing opportunity for great discussions.
Plus, we have our own, @ttFJC, helping us out with the demonstration.
Our meeting location well be held on the north side of little bear (Just before the canyon to Big Sky, if you are coming from the Bozeman area). This location has a pull off area, often used by the club members for airing up or down while often using this trail. It allows us a unique area to play in some dirty and create near real world recovery scenarios.
Specifics on Location

Heading South from Four Corners on Gallatin Rd/HWY 191, turn left onto Little Bear Rd. Follow the winding road. There is one deceiving right turn to STAY on Little Bear Road, and if you hit Portnell or Aspen Ridge Rd you missed the turn. Otherwise keep an eye out for a dirt turn out on your right as you head up. See google snap shots below. Look for the yotas!
