Just ran a search and couldn't find any info on the Auburn Limited slip diff. Looks like they have one for the rear end of the 100 series. Anyone use this or have any thoughts on it? Seems like it would be a much cheaper alternative to the ARB.

$550-600? I'd save your pennies and wait till you can go selectable:meh:

I had the factory LSD on my troopie. Didn't do a whole lot.

Auburn Pro LSD

Auburn has their app guide all jacked.

We stock the Auburn Pro units. I run the 10.5" model in my supercharged 5.7L tundra. Its great on a pickup with lots of power as you NEED the traction for daily driving, that is where the advantage is of an LSD over a selectable locker.

The LC 100 doesnt have a traction problem for daily driving because it is AWD and has passenger compartment over real wheels, and even with a supercharger does not have "lots of power". The Auburn is a lesser expensive option to an ARB air Locker, but it is a different type unit all together. It will "lock" mores than a factory LSD but is never fully locked, this is fine if you just want added traction for mud, snow, sand, light trails (actually most people). Most on this forum are biased towards moderate, or heavier offroad use, where lifting tires is an issue for an LSD. 1 other option would be the TJM pro locker, they are a bit less money than an ARB, and in some ways could be considered less prone to leakage as no air enters the locker itself.

That said, we do stock the TJM Locker, ARB Air Locker, AND the Auburn LSD. I'd say that most the Auburn units that we sell for this application are going in the 07+ Tundra w/ 4.7/4.6L as they have a simlar rear as the LC 100

The idea of a limited slip like a Detroit TrueTrac is a great option for 100's with ATRAC. The TrueTrac was awesome with my LR Discovery Series 2 that had traction control. When a wheel started to slip the traction control applied the brakes which in turn engaged the TrueTrac. It was very effective and completely automatic. No airlines, no compressor, no switches, just a very strong diff with no hassles. It was also cheaper and easier to install than ARB's. I really wish they made them for the 100, I would already have them installed front and rear. How does the Auburn compare to the Detroit TrueTrac?

Edit: I just took a look at the Auburn site and it looks they are the clutch type, they aren't the same as TrueTrac (uses helical gears instead of clutches). Oh well...
