G.T. and I went to our local wheelin spot on Saturday(pics to follow) My locked 62 with BFG MT's couldn't hold a candle to Greg's open diff 62 with LTB's. Just a piss poor performance from my tires. BFG's are a good all around tire but if you plan on spending any time in the swamp look elsewhere. Has anyone ever taken BFG up on there free recovery offer? We met up with some dumba$$ in a CJ7 that couldn't even keep up with me. Sorry no pics but our only camara was 35mm.

I don't know much about tires, so can you tell me what the differences are between the BFG MT's and LTB's. Might be looking for new tires. Thanks for education!

BF Goodrich MT's(mud terrain/maximum traction) are a radial tire that has good wear and ride qualities. They also perform reasonably well off-road. LTB's are a Super Swamper bias ply. These tires ride close to terrible on the road but are tough as sheet off road.

Jes's comment that an open diffed 62 w/ LTBs could do things that a locked 62 w/ MTs couldn't do isn't hyperbole. Also, not a reflection of Jes's driving skills, either!

Thanks Steve, I needed that. :)

If you call holding on to the wheel and flooring it skills, we are equal. Not much else to driving in the mud down here.

Not being a :princess: , but Sat was the last time for a long time that I will be getin that muddy. My starter is draging really bad today, worse than it did when I started it at John's. I havn't tracked it down yet, but it has to be all that mudd

It wasnt the mud...it was the 6 hours you spent pressure washing the thing.

Now Jess, you want to get going a little fast said I with the intention of Jess driving 5-8 MPH when he went through the mud bog. Jess heard," Come on wildman, get it up to 40"!

The rest, as they say, is history. My sides still hurt from laughing.

Better than pics, I have video... but no web space.

Tried to post a pic of the carnage, but the server is messed up or something. Keep getting page not found.
