I have checked the forums for this but the info isn't as direct as I would like. Although, I do think quite a few deal with this.
Had my t-belt, w pump, and all pulleys replaced and then noticed this immediately after. Or, like my clients at work, I noticed new problems that existed before, I just pay more attention after someone else touched it. Can't be sure.

Very simple, at idle in drive or park....essentially, at a lower idle speed. Only when compressor cycles on. Goes away with a slight improvement in idle speed or when ad goes off.

Its a drone for sure. Pulsates like it is surging. To me it feels like the compressor is sitting on the frame.

Had the t-body serviced...no different.

Thought???

Two things come to mind; your battery would have been disconnected so the engine ECU needs to relearn optimum idle and/or the plastic engine cover is resonating due to old or missing isolators after being removed and reinstalled.

its been over a month so I hope an ECU learn is completed. I will check the engine cover. thanks!

Mine did something similar when the a/c compressor was going out.

Truck would struggle and then surge at idle like the compressor was dragging it down when the clutch clicked on. It made a noise also, but can't remember what it sounded like.

Turn the AC off and see if it continues.

does not continue when the compressor cycles off. had the compressor checked and the pressures are still good. rpms do not fluctuate.

What rpm at idle are you seeing? Should be 700 to 750 if I remember correctly. If your TPS or APPS is suffering your idle speed might be low.
I think you make the best point. in reality, if I could bump the idle by as little as 50 rpm's, it would go away. don't think its a component issue but more of a low idle issue. I wish I could just turn the screw on the left side of the carb :)
