Just looks like there is fibers in the insulation around the engine bay.
 
I believe ours are fiberglass.

Are you sure? The material sandwiched in between the sheet metal on the exhaust heat shields of the 62 sure looked suspicious to me. It comes out in grey powery flakes. The woven mat on the 60's exhaust heat shields likely do. I've only seen a couple still intact. Most have rusted away and the remnants have been discarded.
 
Is there lead in the original paint from the early 80's
 
The only suspect is the white insulation tubing around the power steering high pressure line. It may be fiberglass though because every time my arms would rub up against it, they'd start getting itchy
