I was wondering if anyone knows if the trails to deep creek and willow creek by arrowhead are open this time of year. Anyone been this time of year? Will there be snow? How is deep creek for fishing?
Thanks

Is this in the Big Bear area of Dishpan Springs? If so, the trail is really fun and open and the fishing from what I've heard is decent if you hike back into the creek near the bridge. I may be interested if your going up sometime soon.

I was hoping there could be some snow to take the family on a little trip. Yes this is close to Big Bear but closer to Arrowhead Lake. I have no actual time frame on going, but would like some advice on the conditions when and if there is snow and can my unlocked, stock 80 handle the trail. I will post up again if I plan to go. I have friends with stock 100's that I was hoping to get them up there too and as a bonus fish.

Isn't there a Deep Creek 4x4 road that will take you right up to the stream? Anyone fish there?

The Dishpan trail is open, It crosses Deep Creek, the entire Willow burn area is now open, there is no snow right now, we are still sweating fire danger up there right now. If you want a run, let us know, Tufftorq and his gang will get come running, Hey torq sorry about Thanksgiving, some of us have to stay behind and protect the fort, you know. New Years at Truckhaven??

You will see snow in maybe a month or two up there. But don't hold your breath. When it does snow, holcolmb valley is a downright beutiful area of the mountains, much nicer than the willow creek area. It is colder than a witches titty at night lately, temps in the teens at night up there. Daytime temps are very moderate and sunny right now. Two weeks ago we did the dishpan to holcolmb creek combo, it was fun besides waiting for 25 jeeps (and a fullsize f250) to cross the holcolmb creek rock garden that is always wet.

Fishing in the area is decent, but is barbless hook only. 1-2 lb rainbow trout mostly, with the occasional native brown and catfish. I caught a very small large mouth bass up there recently, that was an interesting find. There are some nice fishing holes closer to devil's hole, which is only a few miles north/ downstream of the deep creek bridge/t6.
