Ih8mud Crew,
I organize Overland based trips in Arkansas and the surrounding areas. I don't do it for money (though donations aren't turned down) but for the experience and fellowship it gives. We have developed a great core group of people who seem to attend all the trips, which is great but making new friends is part of the gig. So... I had a drop for the latest trip, which is over the December 28th - January 1st.
Generally we cover ~50 miles per day, but sometimes its more and sometimes its far less. The terrain is awesome, the people are great, and memories will leave you craving for more.
This is also great for beginners as I act as the "guide" and assist/preform any recoveries that are needed (not very many, but we've had our bad ones). I love to share my knowledge and teach as we go or as requested.
The new year trip has some vehicle requirements as it covers one of the more difficult routes I've built through Arkansas, called the Ozark Overland Trail.
You can find more info here, but you'll need to create an account to get into the trips section.

Last year it was snow pack, frozen mud, and rather cold. Overall a great time.
Just to cover some FAQ I get:
You will probably have scratches. Arkansas is not nice.
I've dented my truck, I've seen others dent their rigs as well.
I will not provide you with a KML/GPX/ETC file and track recording is not allowed. This used to be common, but two things happened - People started doing the trail in an identical way (down to the campsite, road nicknames, etc.) and claiming it as their own AND giving out the routes to local clubs who trashed and destroyed that route. One club closed a beautiful road and had several campsites burmed.
The min requirements are the min requirements.
feel free to message me if you want to attend.
Here are a few photos from past trips:

December 28th - January 1st
This 5 day trip will cover most, if not all, of the Ozark Overland Trail. We will start at the Loves Gas Station at Exit 107 on I40. We will convoy north to the start of our New Year adventure. Weather dependent, the trail could be treacherous in nature. Last year we had a variety of challenges, from snow pack to frozen (and slick!) mud.
This trip won't be a leisurely drive in the woods. It will be an adventure.
Vehicle Requirements:
Reliable
Front and Rear FRAME mounted recovery points
Aggressive tire (BFG A/T being the least aggressive)
A minimum of ONE locking axle (Center diff is not a locker to me, sorry) OR ATRAC/QuadraDrive/Similar
Spare parts/Tools
Recommended Equipment:
Good, Warm sleeping bag
Extended breathers
Spare air filter (One for trail, one for Highway)
Winch
Chainsaw or axe
Shovel
Anything that will make your experience more enjoyable. Some people like roughing it, some people like steaks.
