Not worried about 49s. Lost to Rams already and still need to play the Hawks two times. Worried about those games. Cards had no problem defeating the Lions at home yesterday while the Hawks struggled with them at home which is a good sign. Watching the Packers they are doing a good job of protecting Rodgers. Last thing you want is to travel to Green Bay in January and play the Packers with Rodgers healthy. Last year Packers almost beat the Hawks at home with Rodgers injured. Need to keep at least one game of Packers and then defeat them in December to secure home field.

Okafor out for 2 to 3 weeks is the initial report before the MRI. The way he left the field, I am being optimistically skeptical...

Thoughts on bringing in Dwight Freeney? Stats aren't all that impressive, but Keim has proven how to plug the holes with talent.

damn,,,our only strong pass rusher. Interesting idea on Freeney - played with Arians, didn't he?

MNF : Vick looks rough....

Like BA says, stats don't always measure effectiveness of a pass rusher. Getting close forces the q to pass under less than optimum circumstances. Freeney was among the best at qb hurries.

If they find a better player on the street, they should take him. The pickings are thin during the season.

id like to see Marcus Golden take an active role in that position

There's usually two olbs on the field. The rookies will get they're reps. I'd like to see more of Riddick and Martin as well.

Phbbt! The NFL needs to pull their collective heads out of their asses. There's a pretty clear history of western teams playing poorly when scheduled to play the early game on the east coast. With all their schtich about protecting the brand, you'd think that correcting the problem would warrant some attention.

I still think the onus still follows on the inability to finish. Both teams I follow had the game pretty much handed to them and they failed to pull it off. Sucky day as a fan for sure...

Watching the sports on the news last week believe the Cards headed east instead of coming back to the valley after the Detroit game just so that won't be the case.:meh: Played a good first half just couldn't finish drives and put points on the board. Think if the score would have reflected the way they played in the first half the out come might have been different.

I didnt watch the game, listened some over radio. Sounds like a good loss cause it wasn't in division, Cards knew they were better team but failed to prove it with scoreboard and lessons learned will help win later. BA is still relatively new HC and I think he too will use this to end with a better team. Still, hate to see a(nother) loss to the stillers.

They did and one would hope that it would help them acclimate but it's also another distraction. They dominated the first half but mistakes kept them from putting the game away.

This issue has been ongoing for years. With the league's dogged efforts to enforce the most trivial rules, you'd think a scheduling adjustment would not be an issue. The first two road game were both in the late time slot. Doing the same for all games would eliminate the elephant in the room and/or reduce excuses. Either way, it would be good for the game.

My two biggest observation from our two losses: 1) We live and die by the sword - meaning BA and Palmer love to push the ball down the field. Which is great, except when it isn't. Too many deep balls on 3rd and short or 3rd and reasonable instead of taking the underneath 2nd and 3rd routes for a drive sustaining first down. 2) Much like the old Colts Def. (when Manning was there), this defense is built to play from ahead. Stop the run early, get a lead, then force opponent to pass and let our opportunistic DB's do their thing. All the more reason we MUST get TD's in the red zone in the first half. Otherwise, the D gets worn out from too many blitz and man coverage packages which make us vulnerable mid to late 4th quarter.

Best thing about tonight's game . . . . . . Niners or Shehawks will lose. Or better yet tie

Good analysis Norm. Agreed there were many times on 3rd and short that we sholudve just went for the 2-3 yard gain and keep the drive alive and the D off the field.

I was all ready for this Sundays game and realized about Tuesday that its the Monday night game! Traffic getting to the game will be interesting...

Murf, We're leaving for the stadium around 2:30p so traffic shouldn't be a problem:flipoff2: :bounce2:

Had high hopes that Bowles Jets could produce a win today.
I am so happy about him turning that team into a playoff contender.
