Yup. Hook on the machined lip on the inner joint. I hold the hook on with a hose clamp. 3-4 hits and it should pop out.

i was going to use zip ties, but used my dad to slide the hammer while I was holding the hook.

did you rotate the shaft at all?

any tips for installing the steering knuckle oil seal? aka front axle inner hub seal?

I was reading this post (Tips for Installing new CV Axle Seal (I keep bombing) - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tips-for-installing-new-cv-axle-seal-i-keep-bombing.1329851/post-15523736) and putting it in the freezer seems like a grand idea.

Usually they pop right out with a seal puller. Then tap it in with the hub dust cap.
