Thanks Glady, that is good to know. Whitehorse is a major fill point (and stop-over) for us moving north.

not sure what your fuel carry capabilities are, but the more that you can avoid the more remote fueling spots the better, I remember getting hosed for 6.99 for a jug of last years no name winter washer fluid the first summer that we drove down to alberta, likely bought at .99 clearance at canadian tire in town when summer hit, and my FIL told me that this summer he paid 1.50/l for gas in the same spot, when average price here was a buck or so. since then we've been bringing a couple of jerry cans (and spare every fluid) with us
If I can help out either of the two inuvik expeditions discussed here when you pass through, let me know, I've got little to offer myself, but can probably round up a heated garage space and tools if it is needed for some repairs, or good local mechanic or parts store recommendations, bed and breakfasts if you are more into that than a hotel PM me if you want a phone number for a whitehorse contact for your trip or any other info

Gladly,

What is the price of diesel?

We are heading to Tuk at the end of March.

Todd and Kathy

no clue, i'm in in the gasser masses, but I'll look around tomorrow and report back, BTW, my longwinded offer of local assistance above applies to your trip as well! let me know if I can assist you folks

btw, just curious, I am sure that everyone has done their research, but when are the ice bridges usually closed, I was thinking that late march/early april might be cutting it close?

Stefan,

The Ice highway from Inuvik to Tuk closes end of April....

We are planning to be in Whitehorse March 29 and spend the night around the hot springs north of Whitehorse. If you see a BJ74 pulling an M101 that would be us feel free to stop us....

We are on our way and just met up with Paul from Equipt and Dave Connors in Salt Lake. We make camp in West Yellowstone area tonight and then on to AEV in MT.

We are still planning on making it to Calgary for dinner on the 18th. I will post the details soon :)

There's a bunch of Rocky Mountain Land Cruisers that'd be excited to meet you guys for dinner somewhere. Let us know when you'll be here.

Scott,

Drive safe.....

If you are stopping in Edmonton PM me and we can get together.

If that does not work out we should try to get together in Whitehorse on March 29th. Kathy and I are heading north and you should be heading south.

Keep your eyes out for a BJ74 with a M101 trailer in front of the hostle in Whitehorse.

Crossing into Canada tomorrow and out for a little ice climbing.

Scott,

Very cool. Have fun and keep us updated.
Do you guys carry a 2m radio?

Regards

Alvaro

Scott,

Very cool pic.
I was thinking of using Echolink to talk to you guys. Are you using repeaters.
Do you know their frequency? If you give me the repeater's call sign I can see if I can hit it from here.

Regards

Alvaro

It was super cool to put some faces to names tonight. Scott, Pasquale, and Chris, I wish you guys the best possible trip and I'm crossing my fingers that you get to see Northern lights till you are sick of them. It was also great to see some locals that I haven't met before... Mountain Pete and the guy with the double cab, you can remind me of your name when I see you at the club meeting on Wednesday.
