ALl,

I've got a huge list of things to do on my Hundy. For starters I have an Outback drawer with roller floor plus wing kit waiting to be bolted down in my LX. If I was using two drawers side by side, the install is simple. However with only a single (I have to have a 6th seat available without removing the drawers.) drawer the instructions are much more murky. Has anybody done a single drawer from Outback (ARB) in their Hundy? Where did you bolt it to? Pics? Once I get this installed I need to install my 2000w PS inverter, plus ac transfer switch and remote. I also need to install my IronMan dual Batt system. Still also have to install my 100 series hand throttle and pedal. I'm getting backed up with Hundy projects. If anyone can help with the drawer question that would help a lot.

Thanks,

Yeah, I can see how the instructions are a bit confusing. I might have strayed a bit from the install instructions but it is in as perfect as I can see. They mention drilling in the manual but that is for other vehicle installs, not on the 100.

Some pointers:

1) Print out the relevant pages of the instruction manual. Especially important is the guide to where you put the A & B Hats (cross supports). You have to unbolt them and reposition them in the correct position for the Land Cruiser 100 (7 seater). The 5 seater is different. Use a ruler.

2) Note, you only have to remove the 3rd row inner floor trim pieces. You can leave the outer two in place. You need to trim out a little bit of carpet directly above the bolt. Only two bolts hold in the drawer. The fore most bolt (A hat) is the longer one. You will also be using 20mm spacers (2x10 snapped together).
The B hat uses 15mm spacers (5 + 10).

3) I think the instructions call for two spacers per hat. I used 3. One under the bolt and one to each side.

4) Be sure there is enough room at the "lip" on the front of the drawer. If not, the tailgate won't close properly.

What I noticed was this drawer can be removed pretty easily. You just unbolt the "lid," slide the drawer forward and you can access the two bolts that fasten the drawer. Overall, I'm happy with the quality of the drawers. They are very well made except the plastic trim that everyone mentions. Like some others, mine came with a minor crack.

Thanks so much for the reply, pics and IM. I also appreciate all the details of your install. My only concern is the wording in the manual calling for 4 bolts per drawer or 4 total bolts if two drawers are bolted together. In my mind I was going to use 2 bolts in the center seat mounts and drill the drawer frame to put two bolts in the side seat mounts. Being that I am going to run a full ARB 63l fridge on top of the roller floor as well as tools etc in the drawer, I am worried about only using two bolts. What are your thoughts?

Thanks Again,
Kirk

Yes, I read that too about the 4 bolts and I was willing to do that but the kit doesn't come with enough bolts. I may buy two more bolts and drill two holes in the hats. For your set-up, I would definitely do the 4 bolts.
